Fine Filipino Food - by Karen Hulene Bartell - This is a great book to bring authentic tasting Filipino food to your home. Just about every kind of Adobo imaginable, including 5 vegetarian Adobo - though, I must say, for those of you who are vegetarian, this may not be the book for you, most recipes include chicken, beef, fish, seafood, or pork. No photos, but Fine Filipino Food is a nicely designed book that lays out the recipes very clearly. The author includes a helpful page on substitutions and cooking methods. |

Authentic Recipes from the Philippines - by Reynaldo G. Alejandro - I have just eaten Filipino food cooked by myself, my friends and local lunch spots, always very good "home cooking". This book is an eye-opener because it takes this cuisine to a whole new level. Photo after photo of elegantly plated dishes and excellent recipes follow a glossary and a few pages of sauce recipes, This book is only a little over 100 pages but the fine recipes and photos make it a welcome addition. |
